Poornaprajna Vidyapeetha started collecting rare books for its library named "Poornaprajna Granthalaya." The institution has a dream of preserving and restoring old classical and shastric Sanskrit manuscripts. Much attention has been given to collect and preserve handwritten palm-leaf manuscripts along with printed books. The library's collection of 15,000 books is a great asset to the institution.

Our library serves as a central hub supporting teaching, learning, and research programs. It is well stocked with the latest books, manuscripts, and research publications. Open to students, faculty, and staff, the collection covers all academic and research subjects relevant to the institute.

Mansuscripts Details

The library houses an extensive collection of books written in almost all South Indian languages, as well as English and Sanskrit. The majority of the collection comprises Sanskrit works. Broadly, the Sanskrit books can be categorized as follows:

  • Palm-leaf manuscripts
  • Hand-written paper manuscripts
  • Printed editions from earlier periods
  • Recently published books

These Sanskrit books are further classified by subject areas, including Veda, Upanishad, Purana, Major Vedanta Schools, Nyaya, Vyakarana (Grammar), Meemamsa, Sahitya (Literature), Jaina, Bouddha (Buddhist literature), and Haridasa literature.

  • Volumes of the Sanskrit magazine Vimarsha, publishing research articles for over ten years, along with other similar volumes.
